On Saturday March 11, 2017, I was honored to join my friends at the non profit Traveling Stories at their El Cajon StoryTent. I was able to give the kids a mindfulness workshop based on my book from the I’magine novel series: Danny Yukon & The Secrets Of The Amazing Lamp. Traveling Stories is a burgeoning non profit organization based in San Diego, CA that creates engaging, social reading experiences that help kids fall in love with reading by the fourth grade! Please go and support the awesome work that Traveling Stories is doing by checking out their website here.

I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN THIS QUOTE!
Studies have shown that mindfulness improves critical thinking and mood, and decreased mental distractions and stress. Both Traveling Stories and I believe the practice of this mindful habit can improve children’s reading capabilities along with many other skills in their life. This was one of the reasons I made it one of my life's missions to bring mindfulness to kids all over the world. I want to thank all of the Traveling Stories supporters for joining me in this mission for helping bring this book to all of the children who attended the workshop.
I WAS NOT ALONE
I want to give a special shoutout to a couple of guys who joined me for this awesome event that promoted literacy, mindfulness, fun, and family, former NFL Defensive Tackle Dwan Edwards, former NFL Line Backer and Super Bowl Champion Gerris Wilkinson, as well as motivational speaker and comedian Stan Pearson. Their presence for this event was not only phenomenal and interactive, but also very invaluable and unforgettable for the kids. I want to give a personal thanks to them for bringing enthusiasm, promoting literacy and mindfulness for the kids. THANK YOU!!!
Why The Kids Love It
Studies have shown that mindfulness improves critical thinking and mood, and decreased mental distractions and stress. The practice of this mindful habit can improve children’s reading capabilities along with many other skills in their life.
I personally believe that it has helped me with his self-confidence, thinking, memory, communication, and confrontation of fears. I encourage parents of young readers to practice mindfulness with their kids often, as a free technique to remedy problems and achieve growth in their lives.
Traveling Stories Is Doing Some Amazing Things
I want to thank the Traveling Stories team for also nominating me as a recipient for their annual Red Balloon Awards. The Red Balloon Awards is an inspirational dinner and awards gala that honors literacy heroes in the community while raising funds for Traveling Stories. If you would like to learn more click here.
